Greetings Scottie Fans!

The 2023-2024 school year is upon us, along with a fall full of Scottie Activities. All our extracurricular activities are great fun for the whole family. Football, Volleyball and Cross Country are now underway; the band is firing up that iconic school song, and the cheerleaders are practicing their jumps, kicks, and cheers. Our athletes are taking to the gym, the football field and are out on the roads and the track. You can see our students and athletes everywhere.

Your Scottie Booster Club is a major partner with all our school’s programs, and we are again asking for your continued help in supporting our Students, Athletes, Band & Choir Members, Speech & Drama Club, along with the Cheer Squad. Your Scottie Booster Club was able to give to your school $23,648.00 this past year, spread across a wide range of needs that the school is not able to meet with its budgeting concerns. The booster club was also able to provide $4,500.00 in scholarships to former Scottie and area students through the (JJMT) Jeff Jurgens Memorial Tournament.

Your booster club has gotten behind the “Scottie Field Recharged” committee and is asking for your help in passing the bond issue that has been brought forth by the school district for the update of our outdoor sports complex. While from a distance, the facility looks great, in reality. The base of the track is crumbling and can no longer be patched or repaired, the football field is dangerous and is the worst playing surface in all of class B. This is an update that has been worked on behind the scenes for more than 15 years. Your booster club has made the initial investment, to help bring this to a public vote in November.

On behalf of the directors of your Scottie Booster Club I would like to invite you to renew your membership at this time. We would like to thank all of you that have shown your true Scottie spirit, with all the vehicles around town and even throughout our great state, seeing all the Scottie Plaid license plates, we receive compliments even from our rivals. Remember that not only do they look great on your car or pickup but $20.00 a year goes directly to your Scottie Booster Club. Just ask for them when you renew your plates, and you can even get them customized if you like.

I would like to again thank the rest of the Booster Club board they all put a lot of time and effort in throughout the year to make your booster club run smoothly Vice President Ryan Fast, Secretary/Treasurer Ruth Ann Hutcheson, Voting Directors Andrew McKean, Gil Johnson and Superintendent Wade Sundby. I would like to thank out going board members Bryan Krumwiede, and Lori Westby, along with our Non-voting Directors Vice Principal/Athletic Director Brenner Flaten and High School Principal Brett Huntsman. They did an excellent job for you this past year. The board would like to introduce to you, your two newly elected board members Jace Ball, and Amber Kirkland.

We have included a financial statement from the 2022-2023 fiscal year on the back of this letter along with your membership dues renewal form.
Don’t’ forget to check out the Scottie Booster Club webpage. There you can renew your membership, give an endowment, check out current school events, or register your team for the next JJMT; just log on to scottieboosterclub.com.

Mike Pehlke, President
